Here’s a solemn thought: we must all individually stand before God and give an account of our actions, choices, words, motives, and our thoughts.  On that day, we will have no one to blame or point a finger at. Hebrews 4:13 even says this, “Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.” This future reality should change the way we view and treat others (Rom. 14:10). Right now, take a few minutes to think about what that day will be like when you stand before God and give an account for your life.

Evaluate:

  • In light of the fact that we will give an account to God, what actions would change in your day-to-day choices and in your relationships?

Reflect:

  • Instead of standing in God’s place as judge over someone, what are we to decide to do based on verse 13?

  • If we live inconsiderately, what could be destroyed according to verses 15 and 20?

  • Want a challenge? Memorize Hebrews 4:13 today.
